“Oppressors don’t want us to imagine a future where we all belong, void of harmful systems and filled with grace, care, and thriving futures. But that visualization is a crucial element in our movement. We all need to be able to see the world we’re building, not just the one we’re leaving behind.”

Lincoln Mondy works in philanthropy and writes about abolition as a practical, creative praxis — one focused on shifting money, power, and imagination away from punishment and toward care.

As Program Officer at the Andrus Family Fund, he helps guide a $5 million grant portfolio supporting the self-determination, power, and liberation of Black, Brown, AAPI, and Indigenous youth impacted by youth incarceration, family policing, and other disruptive systems.

His documentary series Black Lives / Black Lungs explores the origins and impact of America's tobacco industry on the Black experience in America.

Previously, Lincoln led strategic projects for Advocates for Youth and started his career at Berlin Rosen supporting justice-focused clients, including the Youth First Initiative — a national campaign to end youth incarceration.
